Biography for
Shayne Cornwell
A native of California, Shayne Cornwell is currently a Certified Arborist with
The Care of Trees. He started his career in Arboriculture in 1991 in the Santa
Cruz County area as a ground worker for a company by the name of Davey Tree.
While gaining field experience, Shayne continued his quest for a career as a
firefighter by attending night school. He never gave up on his true passion,
which was for Arboriculture. Continuing education to obtain recognition, as a
Certified Arborist is exactly what Shayne foresaw happening. He has been
successful in aiding the residences of Los Altos manage and care for their
trees.
At 13, Shayne was introduced to the sport of wrestling. Although Shayne stayed
involved with wrestling throughout his high school years, it was the lessons
learned from his coaches about sportsmanship, ethics and other core values which
planted the seed of passing the lessons on to other young men in their early
teens. Shayne now volunteers nearly 10 hours a week with high school young men
coaching wrestling. He hopes to be able to pass on the life long lessons, which
were taught to him as a young man. Not only does Shayne volunteer and Coach
wrestling giving back to local communities and high schools, but Shayne also
competes in the sport of Wrestling. As they say, the apple does not fall far
from the tree; Shayne's son, Evan, is making his debut as a wrestler this year
as well. Evan is 5 years old.
When Shayne is not advising local residences on proper tree management or not on
the mat coaching young men and helping to shape their lives, you will find
Shayne on his boat sitting out on the lake. Shayne and his family enjoy quality
time together on the water. They enjoy the outdoors and spending time together
wakeboarding and waterskiing. Shayne is a dedicated husband and father. He
spends valuable time in the classroom with Evan and Emma as well as on the
playground doing yard duty.
Shayne has been happily married for 9 years. He and his wife, Alison shares two
beautiful children; Evan, 5 and Emma, 2.
